Halo show premieres March 24

Halo Master Chief

Paramount+, the new streaming service that includes original shows like Star Trek: Discovery, is expected to give us the first trailer for the upcoming Halo show later tonight during the AFC Championship Game. However, another post by the show's official Twitter account gave away its release date.

According to the voice-over, the series will premiere in the United States on March 24, 2022. Many gamers were expecting it to hit sometime toward the end of the year, so it's great to see that the wait will only be another few months. Paramount+ is expected to launch in the United Kingdom and Europe sometime this year as well.

In a recent interview, Halo Franchise Creative Director Frank O'Connor said that the Halo show takes place in an alternate timeline. While the series follows similar events, the team was given creative freedom to tell the story in their own way. You should expect major differences between the show and the games, even when it comes to how Master Chief and Cortana find the first Halo ring.

The Halo show is expected to tell a darker story, one that delves deeper into the controversial origins of the SPARTAN-II soldiers. It'll be interesting to see what twists the show offers when compared to the games.
