Halo Wars 2 release date announced, beta goes live today

Announced at last year's Gamescom event, Halo Wars 2 is one of the many exciting titles in development for Xbox One. Today, Microsoft took some time to show off a new trailer and surprise fans with Halo Wars 2 content.

Not only will Halo Wars 2 come to Xbox One and Windows 10, but a beta is going live today, following Microsoft's E3 press conference. Xbox gamers will be able to try out the in-development Halo Wars 2 for an entire week. The beta is set to conclude June 20.

Halo Wars 2 follows the campaign of UNSC leader Captain Cutter, who faces a deadly new faction known as The Banished. With the Spirit of Fire, Captain Cutter and his crew face off against The Banished and its chief, the Brute warlord Atriox, who is both a deadly warrior and brilliant military leader in control of a massive army.

Halo Wars 2 will launch on both Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21, 2017. Check out both of the new trailers for Halo Wars.
