Just a few weeks ago, YouTube announced that the music video for PSY's song Gangnam Style had become the most viewed video clip uploaded on their service in their history. Today, YouTube revealed the list of the top 10 most viewed new videos posted in 2012 and, obviously, Gangnam Style is on top of the list by a wide margin.
The clip, which was uploaded on July 15th, has now generated over 971 million views as of this writing. It has an outside shot of becoming the first YouTube video to reach the 1 billion view milestone before the end of the year.
YouTube's blog lists the other nine videos on their most viewed list this year. The full list is as follows:

YouTube decided to have a little fun and created their own 2012 mashup video featuring PSY and a ton of other well known YouTube personalities. We will leave it to you to spot and name all of them.
By the way, YouTube claims that its users are now watching four billion hours of video a month.
