A brand-new Insider Preview build is available for Windows 10 PCs and phones today. Build 14379 comes just two days after build 14376.
As you've probably guessed, there are no new front-facing features available in today's build. After all, we're just over a month from the August 2 launch of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. You can expect mostly fixes from now until then.
Of course, there are some fixes in this build as well. Dona Sarkar writes the release notes differently than Gabe Aul did though, so instead of fixes we get "improvements and fixes".
Here's what's fixed and improved in Windows 10 for PCs build 14379:
We fixed an issue where the size of the Credential UI might not be big enough to display the contents on a PC with High DPI.
We fixed an issue where Action Center might crash after dismissing a large number of notifications.
We fixed an issue where Centennial app launches from Start or Cortana wouldn’t count towards those apps bubbling up in Start’s “Most used” list.
We fixed an issue where no note would have keyboard focus after minimizing then reopening the Sticky Notes app.
Here is the known issue:
- Using Continuum from your phone on your PC via the Connect app will not work. This should be fixed in the next build.
It's nice to see that there is only one known issue for this build. Of course, build 14376 didn't have any at all. Still, it's good to see things coming along nicely.
If you're on the Fast ring, you can grab build 14379 by heading to Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates. If you're not, you can sign up by going to Windows Update -> Advanced options. Remember, when your PC reboots, go back to Advanced options and set it to the Fast ring.
