Sony's MLB: The Show series has been a PlayStation exclusive for the almost the past two decades, with the latest entry, MLB The Show 20, being received quite positively by critics. However, towards the end of 2019, it was announced that the series would soon be shedding its PlayStation exclusivity and will be heading to other platforms. Today, the alleged box art for the Xbox One counterpart of MLB The Show 21 has leaked.
Posted by "anerdydad" on Instagram, the covers for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One variants of the game have been revealed, and can be seen below:
It is important to note that while this will be the first Sony game on Xbox, the company has been experimenting with the idea for the past couple of years. Multiple PlayStation-published titles have made the jump to PC, with the most recent being Horizon Zero Dawn.
While an Xbox One game cover with "PlayStation Studios" plastered on it certainly seems a bit alien right now, we will likely get used to it by the time MLB The Show 21 is fully detailed for all platforms, hopefully in the next month.
