Microsoft is always hard at work on implementing new features for its Band 2 fitness tracker, as well as for its Health platform. Back in March, we saw auto-pause in tracking sessions for the Band 2, and Facebook integration for Health.
A new report from WindowsBlogItalia shows what's coming in a future update to both the app and the fitness tracker.
Here's what's on the way (translated from Italian):
Get out and explore with Microsoft Band 2 and the Explorer pane : GPS and altimeter trace the path, altitude and other information. Smart alerts remind you to stay hydrated and to eat. Mark points of interest as you walk to remember the important elements of exploration.
Microsoft Health app for Windows 10 : anything that you like Microsoft Health app for mobile devices is now available for PC or tablet with Windows 10.
Connect and compete with friends : create challenges for distance, minutes cardio, runs and bike rides between you and your Facebook friends who use Microsoft Health.
Currently, if you go for a walk and want to track where you went, you would have to use the Run tile. The Explorer tile seems like it would be more useful for such a task, as well as for hiking.
A Microsoft Health app for Windows 10 is also worth noting, as this is something that we reported on last month. The report didn't say when these new features would be made available, but it shouldn't be too long now.
