Add-on named, some content confirmed, but oddly no mention of co-op multiplayer New details have emerged on Illusion Softworks' expansion for its WWII squad-based shooter Hidden & Dangerous 2, reportedly thanks to a sly fact sheet that publisher Gathering slipped into its E3 2004 brochure. Called Sabre Squadron, the add-on is pencilled in for an Autumn 2004 release, with the meat of the content consisting of nine new single-player missions and three new multiplayer missions.
AI improvements can be expected, both enemies and comrades in arms now apparently reacting realistically to different combat situations - for instance, they'll run for cover, set up ambushes and have a heightened sense of self-preservation. Plus, there'll be new weaponry including the German G43 rifle, SAS flare gun, German Panzerschreck, French MAS MLE 36 and Parabellum with silencer. Strangely, there's no mention of the promised multiplayer co-op mode for Sabre Squadron, unless the new multiplayer missions are it. We certainly hope not, as we've been fully expecting the entire new single-player campaign to support co-op play.
