HMD Global is gradually approaching the end of its Android 10 rollout, and the Nokia 5.1 Plus is now the latest step towards that goal. The company has announced that the update is now being made available to the phone, which was first released in 2018 with Android Oreo on board. It received Android Pie that same year, and this will likely be its last major Android update.
As usual, the update is being rolled out in waves, starting with the following 34 countries:
Armenia | Australia | Azerbaijan | Bangladesh |
Belarus | Belgium | Cambodia | Denmark |
Finland | Georgia | Hong Kong | Iceland |
India | Indonesia | Kazakhstan | Laos |
Luxembourg | Macau | Malaysia | Mongolia |
Myanmar | Nepal | Netherlands | New Zealand |
Norway | Philippines | Russia | Singapore |
Sri Lanka | Sweden | Thailand | Ukraine |
Uzbekistan | Vietnam |
Also in line with the company's standard procedure, the update is available to 10% of users in these markets today, and 50% will have it by May 22. The rollout should be completed in these markets by May 24.
The Nokia 5.1 is one of the last phones to be listed on HMD Global's roadmap to get the Android 10 update. The final batch of devices includes the Nokia 5.1, 3.1, 2.1, 1, and they're all expected to get the update before the end of next month.
