HMD Global has been one of the quickest companies to deliver the Android Pie update to its lineup of phones, and it's keeping in pace with that with yet another rollout starting today. The Nokia 8 Sirocco, the flagship launched in early 2018, is now receiving the update.
The update had initially been promised for November of last year, alongside with the update for the original Nokia 8. Those plans ended up not coming to fruition, and though the Nokia 8 received the update before Christmas, the Sirocco was left out. Now the update is finally rolling out, introducing a few new features such as adaptive battery and the Digital Wellbeing dashboard.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is the company's seventh smartphone to receive the update, and many more should be on the way soon, as HMD promised two years of updates for many of its smartphones.
A new Nokia flagship is expected to be coming soon, and it will most likely ship with the latest version of Android. Despite being just under one year old, the 8 Sirocco is the company's newest flagship, and it's rocking the two-year-old Snapdragon 835 chipset.
