Nokia has announced six new smartphones and Lite Earbuds which will go on sale between April and June in select markets. The Nokia X20 and X10 are the high-end offerings, the G20 and G10 are in the mid-range, while the C20 and C10 are sub-€100 low-end devices. The company is also launching HMD Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the UK this month with a gradual global roll-out planned.
Commenting on the launch of HMD Mobile, Janne Lehtosalo, VP of Services, HMD Global said:
“HMD Mobile is built on the foundation of trust, simplicity and flexibility where you only pay for the features you will use every day with no fixed-term subscriptions or premiums. This momentous launch presents our ambition to become the ultimate one-stop-shop for all your mobile needs.”
With each category of phone, Nokia has slightly different upgrade plans. The X and G series will receive monthly security updates for three years while the C series will get quarterly security updates for two years. The X series will receive OS software upgrades for three years and the G series will get them for two years, unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the C series will receive any major OS upgrades.
