Honor held its IFA 2020 press conference today, and with it came a handful of new devices, including the new Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES. These are two new smartwatches, one with a more rugged design meant for "adventurers" and a more modern one for everyday life.
The rugged model is that Honor Watch GS Pro, which promises a 25-day battery life under "typical usage scenarios". In GPS performance mode, it still promises 48 hours of battery life on a charge, or 100 hours using power saving mode while still using GPS. The watch has features like weather alerts and GPS route back, which can record a specific route using the GPS and guide users back to their starting point afterwards.
In fact, it has plenty of features for outdoor activities and overall fitness. It supports over 100 workout modes, including newly-added support for tracking skiing exercises, a barometer for hikers, professional running guidance, automatic workout detection for six different kinds of workouts, SpO2 monitor, sleep tracking, stress monitor, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, and so on.
The display is a 1.39-inch round AMOLED panel with a 454x454 resolution and support for animated watch faces. The display is surrounded by a stainless steel ring, and the watch itself passed 14 tests to obtain MIL-STD-810G certification for durability.
As for the Honor Watch ES, it's a more modern-looking watch, at the expense of some features. Battery life is up to 10 days here, and it doesn't have the same ruggedness as the GS Pro. It does still include fitness features like 95 workout modes, 44 animated exercise guides, 12 animated full workout courses, an SpO2 monitor, sleep tracking, and a stress monitor. It also has female cycle tracking.
The display is rectangular on the Honor Watch ES, with the 1.64-inch panel running at a 456x280 resolution. The watch is only 10.7mm thick and weighs 21 grams, excluding the straps, making it easy to carry around.
Both watches will be available in European markets on September 7. The Honor Watch GS Pro will cost €249.90/£249.99, and it will be available in Charcoal Black, Marl White and Camo Blue. The Honor Watch ES will cost €99.90/£99.99 and it will be available in Meteorite Black, Coral Pink, and Icelandic White. Depending on your country, there are different launch promotions for each model.
Honor also announced the Honor Pad 6 Android tablet, with a 10.1-inch Full HD (1920x1200) display and dual speakers. It's powered by the Kirin 710A chipset, and it has up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Pricing and availability are still unknown, however.
