Honor View 20 to launch in India on January 29 as Amazon-exclusive

After teasing the launch of Honor View 20 in India for a few weeks, the company has now sent out media invites for the launch event on 29th January. The phone has already been confirmed to go on sale exclusively via Amazon.

The India launch is just a week after the handset's global launch, which is scheduled for 22nd January in Paris, France. This is the same smartphone that was launched in China last month as the Honor V20.

The device features a 6.4-inch display that has a small cut-out punch hole in the screen for a 25MP front-facing camera. Under the hood, it is powered by parent company Huawei's Kirin 980 octa-core chipset that packs dual Neural Processing Unit.

It packs 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. Just like the previous generation model, this one too is focusing on the camera capabilities. The phone features a 48MP main camera sensor on the back along with a 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) lens for depth sensing. It runs Android Pie OS out-of-the-box and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

The Honor View 20 is expected to go on sale in India soon after its launch there, and could be priced under ₹40,000 ($575). With such pricing, it will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 6T. In Europe, where the phone reportedly has a starting price of €549, the company will also bundle Honor Watch Magic for free. It is not yet known if the company is planning any such offer for the Indian market.
