Last week, at an event in Italy, HP reportedly revealed that the Elite x3 - its new flagship-class Windows 10 Mobile handset - will be priced at €699 EUR (around £580 GBP / $775 USD) in Europe, when it goes on sale there in September. Now, the device is available to pre-order in the UK, with availability expected even sooner.
Popular independent hardware retailer Clove.co.uk has opened pre-orders for the Elite x3 priced at £680 (€815 / $910). That's clearly a good deal higher than the price in mainland Europe, although it does also include a Desk Dock, which may account for the cost difference.
The Desk Dock accessory is similar in concept to Microsoft's Display Dock for its Lumia 950 and 950 XL. It will allow users to take advantage of the PC-like Continuum experience, connecting the phone to a larger display, and enabling them to interact with the device using a mouse and keyboard.
Clove says it's expecting its first stock of the Elite x3 in early August, which is also in line with the anticipated release date that HP revealed to Neowin back in February.
HP recently revealed that the Elite x3 will be available in a gold color option, but it also said that the handset's fingerprint sensor will be disabled until an update is released this Fall.
You can find out more about the Elite x3 in our feature article from earlier this year, in which we also spoke to a HP executive about the development of its mighty new Windows 10 Mobile flagship.
