HP puts mods in your stocking this Xmas

OUR INQWELL MOLES moles inside HP have come up trumps again, with a sensational revelation this morning. HP are planning to shunt case modding mainstream when they launch their new range of systems this Christmas - complete with Aluminium cases, windows and cathode lights. We have been reliably informed that Coolermaster, well known for their range of high-end enthusiast cases and heatsinks, will be manufacturing the cases and their accessories for HP - Coolermaster already OEM a great many products (such as Nvidia's GFFX5900 heatsinks) and get a large percentage of their trade from such activities. However, this is thought to be one of their biggest design wins to date.

HP is a stalwart of PCWorld stores up and down the country, and their move promises to shunt case modding straight into the homes of first-time buyers across the world. How other manufacturers respond will be interesting - many view case modding as nothing more than a curio, but HP's stance will be sure to make them sit up and take notice.
