The month of April went by without HTC's next flagship in sight, as recently suggested by a previous rumor. Today, the Taiwanese consumer electronics company has finally released the official teaser for the upcoming launch of the HTC U12 via the Twitter account of its UK division.
HTC UK confirmed that the company's next Android device will debut on May 23. The tweet says:
However, there's still not a single word on what specs the upcoming HTC device will pack. Thankfully, the image accompanying the tweet suggests the HTC U12 could be shipping with four cameras, though all other components shown in the picture do not reveal specific details.
While the full official spec sheet of the HTC U12 remains to be seen, recent rumors indicated that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The handset will also supposedly sport a 5.99-inch quad-HD display and pack a 3420mAh battery.
On Tuesday, fresh images allegedly belonging to the HTC U12 leaked online, showing an external design of the handset which seems to sustain the signature design of the previous U-series device with a mirror finish on the outside. Additionally, dual camera setups on both the rear and front of the unit seem to coincide with the four camera components included in the image of the official teaser. More details about the next HTC flagship are expected once the handset launches later this month.
