A few days ago, HTC officially confirmed that its next-generation One flagship will be unveiled on March 1. It was HTC's UK arm that first shared the info, revealing it in a tweet along with an image bearing the words 'let them stare':
The March 1 date means that the new HTC One will be announced on the same day that Samsung's new Galaxy S6 also makes its début. But is a new flagship all that HTC has in store?
A more recent tweet from the company was even more cryptic, leading some to believe that it may refer to something other than the 'One M9', or whatever HTC ends up calling its new range-topper:
The obvious interpretation of the tweet is that this 'something huge' refers to the new One, which is expected to have a similarly large display - just over 5-inches - to the current version. But PocketNow, for example, suggests that it could potentially refer to the rumored extra-large phablet-class version of the One M9.
But could it refer to something else entirely? Last month, HTC said that its 2015 product roadmap would be its "best ever", and promised "some huge surprises" on the way. You never know - HTC may yet do something completely unexpected.
