HTC was a no-show at this year's Mobile World Congress, but that doesn't mean they won't be debuting a new handset. At the top of the month, HTC started tweeting snippets and teases of its upcoming handset dubbed '10'. Although an alleged leak of the handset shows a rather mundane and uninspired device, a new tease from HTC might indicate that the things could end up being a little different when the handset is officially announced.
Today, HTC took to Twitter again to post an image of a speaker grill with the caption: "Here comes the new boom. You'll hear it." While there wasn't a BoomSound hashtag attached to the tweet, HTC is clearly promoting the 10's sound prowess. Although leaked images show no signs of a front-facing dual speaker setup, the leaked images could be inaccurate or HTC might be looking to bring the "boom" in a different way by offering a built-in amp, sound optimizations or speakers in the bezels.
We still have about three weeks to go until the announcement, where the HTC 10 could shape up to become one of this year's surprise flagship handsets.
