It has been quite some time since we last saw an HTC smartphone. The U12+ launched in May and for the most part, things have been reasonably quiet since that time. It looks like the firm is gearing up for a new reveal, slated to arrive at the end of next week. While the official announcement doesn't give too many clues, many in the industry are expecting the arrival of the mid-range U12 Life, which will reportedly have a notched display.
It's still good that HTC is putting out new products every year but one has to wonder, does it even matter anymore? The company hasn't been relevant for quite some time and has been slowly decaying. Just this year, the company announced that it laid off 1,500 employees from its manufacturing side and is experiencing its largest sales slump in two years. While it isn't too late for the firm, with all that has been going on, you might ponder if these are potentially the last products coming from a brand that once dominated the phone industry.
Hopefully, the U12 Life will be something that will brighten up the company's future. Luckily, we won't have to wait long for the full details, as the anticipated reveal is scheduled to take place on August 30.
