HyperEdit 1.0.1

We covered this a long time ago and it seems to still be a great program. Jonathan Deutsch, coder of Hyperedit has released a brand new version. HyperEdit is s a "split" view with one side a preview pane to display the web page live as a user types. HyperEdit breaks the tedious cycle of writing HTML/PHP, saving the file, then reloading and viewing the page in the browser by combining the writing phase with the viewing phase. This clarifies the effects of changes and speeds up the overall process of making a web page. W3C-based validation will red-underline any mistakes. It uses the same rendering engine found in Safari, so it is not only standards compliant, but also very fast.

Version 1.0.1 contains the following changes:

- Live HTML Validation should work now (a package installer will install appropriate libraries). If you do not need live validation, and want a much smaller (820 KB) download, get HyperEdit from: here

- Mac OS X 10.2 support fixed.

- Added support for ISO Latin-2 (Central European)/ISO-8859-2 encoding.

- Fixed a bug where the nag window would sometimes not go away.

"As always, if you have any suggestions, comments, or bug reports, please do not hesitate to email me". Note : This software is currently for mac only.
