IBM To Support Firefox Internally

In a message to employees on Friday, IBM has reaffirmed its commitment to open source with internal support for the Firefox Internet browser.

The message, beginning "Can more than 52 million users be wrong?" highlights a significant step forward for Firefox in the enterprise. Microsoft has constantly played down talk that Firefox is ready for the enterprise claiming group policy makes Internet Explorer favourite for deployment. IBM however is training its helpdesk staff and ensuring internal applications will work well with Firefox.

The message to employees is not to disable or delete current browsers in favour of Firefox but for employees to have increased choice and flexibility.
