We first saw leaked images of the rumored Lumia EOS device a few days ago, but new images suggest that Nokia's upcoming flagship phone might come in two flavors: a polycarbonate one - which we've already seen, and an aluminium one as seen in these images.
The Lumia EOS is a device that's expected to bring the whole 41 Mpx Pureview experience to Windows Phone. Some images, purportedly showing the device, hit the web a few days ago and they lead us to believe that the new phone might be made out of polycarbonate and feature a large hump on the back. This is similar to the way the camera sensor was masked in the original 808 Pureview device, while also keeping true to the Lumia aesthetics.
However, we know that Nokia also has a passion for aluminium, as shown by the recently launched Lumia 925.
These new images seem to show a variant of the EOS with an aluminium body. If these images prove real, Nokia might be launching two versions of the same device, but that seems somewhat unlikely. A more plausible idea is that this is simply a prototype shell, one of many design iterations that the EOS device would have gone through before going into production.
Whatever this is, we won't have too long to wait as Nokia is already preparing to show off something special later this summer.
