Instagram has announced a couple new features for the social network today, including the ability to upload videos that are up to 60 seconds in length.
According to the Facebook-owned social network, time spent watching video over the last six months has increased by 40%. Because of this, they want to make it easier for you to show off your favorite moments.
We want to bring you fun, flexible and creative ways to create and watch video on Instagram. As part of our continued commitment, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds of video. This is one step of many you’ll see this year.
They also said that "longer video begins rolling out today and will be available to everyone in the coming months." There's currently no word on if the feature will be rolling out to the Windows phone versions of Instagram; however, 'everyone' should mean everyone.
Instagram did release a Windows 10 version of its app, although it's still in beta form. Since it's an iOS port, it should eventually maintain a feature parity.
There's also a treat in store for iOS users of the app, which is the ability to compile a video from separate clips in your library. This will be available in version 7.19, which will be available this week.
