Hot on the heels of its update last week that brought its live video service to the platform, Instagram is rolling out another update that brings plenty of new features to Windows 10 Mobile devices including Boomerang, hands-free mode, and night mode support.
After the Instagram app for Windows Phone remained in beta for over two years, Facebook later ported the iOS version of its app to Windows 10 Mobile using its Osmeta tools instead of Microsoft's own Project Islandwood. It was intended that the approach would enable feature parity with Android and iOS versions of the app.
While Boomerang has been available on other platforms since late 2015, hands-free and night modes are relatively newer features. Boomerang allows you to create shoot a short video loop of 5 seconds, hands-free lets you record video without actually holding the record button, and night mode, as the name suggests, enables you to take better low-light pictures.
This update bumps the app to version 10.738.64166 from 10.707.48352. However, it's not being seen on all devices yet. It would be safe to assume that the update is still rolling out and may take some time to reach everyone.
