Intel "Kyrene" on the cards

Dedicated codename spotters have noticed Intel trying to sneak a one past our radar but it was detected flying over at 50,000 metres.

The chipset, for that is what we believe it to be, is codenamed Kyrene and we think it's slated for introduction sometime in the early part of next year.

Information received suggests that Kyrene is a member of the Brookdale family – there's still a good few revs of those to arrive, but in the second quarter of this year.

Kyrene, however, is a chipset which we believe to have DDR 2 support, confirming Intel's St Paul like conversion to double data rate memory types during this year and next year.
