When Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 4 last October, it also revealed a new version of its Type Cover keyboard for the device, along with a variant featuring an integrated fingerprint sensor. But while the tablet and 'standard' keyboard cover have since gone on sale in markets around the world, the Type Cover with Fingerprint ID has so far remained exclusively available in the US.
Today, though, as TDL spotted, Microsoft quietly opened pre-orders for the accessory in the UK, where it will set you back £134.99 GBP. By comparison, the newest version of the Type Cover without the fingerprint reader is priced at £109.99.
A quick glance at other Microsoft Store sites reveals that the company has also started accepting pre-orders for the Type Cover with Fingerprint ID in several European markets, including France, Germany and Spain, where it will cost €179.99 EUR; and in Switzerland, for 184.95 CHF.
The cover will also be available in markets beyond Europe. In Australia, for example, you can pre-order it for $249.95 AUD, while in Canada, it's priced at $199.99 CAD.
Shipments in all markets where pre-orders have opened will begin on March 15, and you can get it in any color as long as it's black. Don't forget, while the Type Cover with Fingerprint ID was released alongside the Surface Pro 4, it's also compatible with the Surface Pro 3.
