Apple has released the latest iOS firmware to developers today. The latest firmware update brings a number of stability improvements, usability enhancements, security updates and new features.
On Wednesday, Apple unveiled the all new iPad 2, which was seen running the latest iOS 4.3 firmware. The latest update to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad will bring the long-awaited hotspot feature to the iPhone 4 and customizable mute toggle switch to the iPad.
The iPhone 3G isn't supported in the latest update, as all the new features added to iOS 4.3 do not support the iPhone 3G hardware. The latest update for the iPhone 3G is iOS 4.2.1, which was released on November 22, 2010, possibly the last update the device will ever receive.
There is also an updated version of both Xcode 3.2.6 and Xcode 4.0 GM Seed 2 to support iOS 4.3.
iOS 4.3 will be available to the public on March 11, 2011 and is only available for the following devices:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPod touch 3rd generation
- iPod touch 4th generation
- iPad
