iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are now official with new colors, bigger displays, and more

The iPhone 16 Pro and its bigger 16 Pro Max are now official. Apple's latest flagship smartphone features larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays (both models are now 0.2-inch bigger), better battery life, a new color, the Apple A18 Pro processor, and more.

Like the standard iPhone 16, this year's pro lineup features Apple's new Camera Control—a special element that combines a physical button with a touch-capacitive surface for advanced camera controls. The Camera Control makes it easier to launch the camera, take a photo, start video recording, and adjust zoom, exposure, or depth of field. In addition, Apple promises to update Camera Control with a two-stage shutter for focus and exposure-locking.

All iPhone 16 Pro models now feature a new 48MP Fusion camera system with a faster sensor and 4K 120 FPS video recording. The 5X telephoto lens is also now available in the standard iPhone 16 Pro, not just its bigger Max variant.

Another major update point for the iPhone 16 Pro is the new A18 Pro chip. It's built on the second-generation 3-nanometer technology with smaller, faster transistors. Besides faster CPU cores, the A18 Pro has a 16-core Neural Engine for on-device processing of Apple Intelligence features. As for the GPU, the six-core graphics in the A18 Pro are about 20% faster than the previous-generation A17 Pro.

The iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available in four colors: Black Titanium, Neutral Titanium, White Titanium, and the all-new Desert Titanium.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 for the 128GB configuration, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will set you back starting at $1,199 for the 256GB model. As for iOS 18, it will be rolled out to all supported iPhones and iPads on September 16.
