As Mobile World Congress 2011 begins to wrap up, the awards for best in class are being announced. This year's winner of the "Best Mobile Device" is Apple's iPhone 4.
Despite the design flaw with the antenna, it still managed to beat out other top tier devices to take home the crown. Cnet reports that the iPhone 4 was praised by the judges for its "great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smartphones."
The iPhone 4 has a love/hate relationship among users; you either love the Apple ecosystem or lambaste Apple for its outrageous tax it places on users and developers. No matter your opinion, the judges at MWC still crowned the phone as the top mobile device.
Apple has sold millions of the iPhone 4 and it has recently been released on Verizon allowing Apple to gain more market share for its phone. While initial sales figures have not been released for their Verizon iPhone, initial reports are suggesting that sales were lower than expectations.
