After announcing the iQOO Z1x last week, Vivo's sub-brand iQOO has now announced another budget smartphone in China, the iQOO U1. The U1 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, a triple rear camera setup, and up to 8GB RAM.
The iQOO U1 skips on the faster 90Hz and 120Hz displays and goes with a regular 6.5-inch 60Hz FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a hole-punch at the top left corner for the selfie camera. The triple rear camera includes a 48MP primary camera, a 2MP camera for depth, and a 2MP macro camera. In the display cutout at the front sits an 8MP selfie camera.
The iQOO U1 also skips on the in-display fingerprint reader and goes with a side-mounted one under the power button. All of the above is powered by a 4800mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. The device runs Vivo’s Android-based iQOO UI and comes with additional Game Space and Multi-Turbo apps.
The smartphone is currently on sale in China, available in a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant priced at CNY1198 ($170) and an 8GB RAM variant with 128GB storage priced at CNY1598 ($230). There’s also a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage for an additional CNY 200 ($30) over the standard 6GB model.
