iQOO Z1x to come with Snapdragon 765G 5G chip

Vivo has revealed some of the specifications for its upcoming new smartphone under the iQOO branding, in addition to some information which was previously shared. First off, the Chinese electronics giant has confirmed that the Z1x will be making its debut with the Snapdragon 765G 5G SoC under the hood.

Although the 5G nature of the smartphone was already known, the exact chip it would pack was a mystery until today. Other sure-fire technical specifications about the iQOO Z1x 5G include a massive 5,000mAh battery coupled with 33W flash charging capabilities. Yesterday, iQOO also announced that the phone would be available in two shades, white and blue, and unveiled a third color option, black, today.

As seen in the promotional pictures, the iQOO Z1x will sport a triple camera setup on the back along, with a single front camera on the front, housed in a cutout on the upper right corner of the screen. It is also known that the Z1x will have a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Other images posted on iQOO's Weibo handle suggest that the Z1x will have a USB Type-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Thanks to the Chinese telecommunications body TENAA and Geekbench, it is also believed that the handset will have a fingerprint scanner mounted on the side, sport a 6.57-inch display, and run Android 10 out the box. In terms of cameras, there's a 16MP one on front, along with a 48MP main camera and two more 2MP units on the back. The RAM variants are believed to be 6GB and 8GB, with internal storage options being 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB.

Vivo-owned iQOO is scheduled to release the 5G-enabled smartphone on July 9, 2020, in Beijing, China. While almost all the features of the upcoming gaming phone have already been revealed, the price of the iQOO Z1x is still unknown.
