If you've been having problems sending or receiving email via your Outlook.com account today, you're not the only one. The good news is that you can stop tearing your hair out trying to fix it; the bad news is that there is an ongoing issue on Microsoft's side which has not yet been fixed.
Microsoft has acknowledged that some users are "experiencing issues syncing and sending mail". On its Outlook.com Service Status page, the company says that it is "working on the issue and expect[s] resolution in the next 24 hours".
Users may be experiencing issues while trying to get their email via:
- Windows Live Mail
- Outlook Connector
- MSN Premium client
- Windows Phone 8.1
- Windows 8 Mail Client
We'll keep an eye on this throughout the day, and update this post with further information as it becomes available.
Update: Microsoft has finally updated its status page with the following information:
We have rolled out a fix to address this issue. The fix will take time to resolve and we expect all services to be fully restored by later today Pacific Time. Impacted users can continue to access email via Outlook.com and any unaffected client.
