Itsdagram, the unofficial Instagram client on Windows Phone, has quickly become one of the most popular apps out there. The app has been downloaded more than 50,000 times only a week after it has launched.
Itsdagram offers pretty much the same functionality as the official Instagram client and Neowin took an in depth look at the app last week. Being a great app and filling such a major gap in the Windows Phone ecosystem has made Itsdagram very popular. Daniel Gary, the dev behind the app, has announced they had reached the 50k milestone last night.
What's surprising is that even though there's a full-featured free app available, the paid version of Itsdagram is in the lead accounting for almost 60% of the total downloads. This proves once again that the Windows Phone ecosystem is a vibrant and awesome place to try to make a living in.
Until major companies decide to dedicate resources to Microsoft's mobile operating system, developers such as Gary, will always find success by creating great applications that fill in the gaps left behind by said major companies.
