SCEE announces that it will release APE's cartoon-inspired action game exclusively for the PS2 later this year. First screens inside.
SCEE has announced that it will release Jackie Chan Adventures for the PS2 in Europe in September. The game is currently in development at Atomic Planet Entertainment and the game's GFX will be in cartoon style much like Thirteen. This game is not the same one, which was announced back in 2001 and cancelled some time ago.
While playing the game, players will assume the role of Jackie as he and his 11-year-old niece travel the world looking for ancient talismans. As they progress through new areas, players will have to battle a number of enemies such as ancient Chinese demons and a group of ninjas known as the Dark Hand. Whenever Jackie attains a talisman, he will gain new or better powers.
"The Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon series lends itself perfectly to be adapted to a video game, and we are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to produce it," said Jason Falcus, operations director at Atomic Planet. "Our team has worked very hard to create a great game that is true to the show in both look and feel, and I am confident it will appeal to fans of the series and fans of action adventure games alike."
