Jaws Unleashed tangled in the Net

Majesco's big fish caught live on the Web; game based on Spielberg's classic bites into the PC, Xbox, and PS2 this August.

Gamers surfing the Web may want to be on the lookout for any looming dorsal fins headed their way. Majesco today announced that the official Web site for Jaws Unleashed is up and swimming. The Web site features game information, screenshots, news, and an official game trailer.

The game, based on the 1975 film Jaws, will be available on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 this August. Developer Appaloosa Interactive has already had its feet wet in the underwater animal department, because the studio previously worked on the Ecco the Dolphin series. In Jaws Unleashed, gamers won't play as film hero Police Chief Martin Brody (played by Roy Scheider), but rather, they'll play as a shark, reminiscent of the terror that haunted the waters around Martha's Vineyard.
