We have already reported that the Nokia Lumia 920 TV ad campaign has started, featuring a chance for one person to be actor Will Arnett's "assistant" for the day. Now there's word that the UK will soon be hit with a number of ads that promote Windows Phone 8 in general and they will use well known celebrities to help sell Microsoft's mobile OS.
The Sun reports that music artists Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani will be a part of the campaign, as well as UK actor James Corden (perhaps best known in the States for his role as Craig Owen in two episodes of Doctor Who). Corden's ad, which begins on UK TV screens on Monday, has him playing with Xbox mobile games on his device.
In fact, the Windows Phone UK YouTube page already has posted a video showing UK TV presenter Holly Willoughby and her own "Live Tiles" screen for Windows Phone 8.
Here in the US, Microsoft did indeed start its own Windows Phone 8 campaign today during NFL football coverage. As we reported before, the commercial was the same one that was shown at the Windows Phone 8 launch a couple of weeks ago. It did not have any celebrities and there's no word on if Microsoft will employ any for the US marketing campaign.
