Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is, as the title suggests, the biggest entry ever in the franchise, featuring every character from previous installments and then some more. In fact, there's so much content in the game that Nintendo held not one, but two 40-minutes Direct presentations dedicated exclusively to it.
But if having the highest number of characters, stages, and music tracks at launch wasn't enough for you, the company revealed during the second dedicated Direct that it would be introducing a few more characters through downloadable content over the course of 2019. Last night, at The Game Awards, the first of five upcoming characters was revealed to be Joker from the Japanese RPG Persona 5.
The news is somewhat interesting because the Persona franchise hasn't had a very strong presence on Nintendo consoles. Notably, Persona 5 is actually an exclusive title to Sony's PlayStation 3 and 4 consoles. Following the announcement, unconfirmed rumors have suggested that a Switch port of the game may be in the works.
As a reminder, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is officially available today, and you can get it from the Nintendo eShop or choose your preferred retailer for a physical copy.
