The full Official Launch Trailer for L.A. Noire has been released and reveals evidence uncovered on the Vice desk, and hints of a trail of corruption leading from drug dealers on the streets of Los Angeles to the highest offices of the LAPD. The trailer shows the highly praised graphics engine off well alongside subtle hints of the cases you will be able to take part in.
The first of eight prose short stories based on the upcoming crime action game L.A. Noire are also now available for free download.
Rockstar's last major release was Red Dead Redemption, which not only received excellent reviews; it went on to sell millions of copies around the world. While L.A. Noire will be based around solving crimes and watching for lying criminal’s reactions, it will have less action than some of the company’s previous games. L.A. Noire will also feature less sandbox style features than the companies other titles, though the whole city can be roamed around at your leisure.
L.A. Noire has been over 5 years in developments and was originally planned to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. It promises a blend of action, detection and complex storytelling as part of an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders in Los Angeles.
L.A. Noire will be available on May 20 in the UK and May 17 in America for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
