The new Tomb Raider game received yet another trailer during Square Enix's E3 presentation today. The full seven-minute trailer is seen above, kicking off with a plane crash cutscene involving Lara and Jonah, which will apparently be a scene from the beginning of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Following that, however, we get to see a long uninterrupted gameplay session, where Lara makes use of various stealth tactics to blend in, distract, and assassinate quite a number of enemies patrolling a jungle.
There are also new combat mechanics that should be familiar to fans of other third-person action games, with Lara being shown poisoning enemies so they attack allies in delirium and even stealthily hoisting and hanging hostiles up in trees.
Eidos Montreal Game Director, Daniel Chayer-Bisson, added that Lara will have some new tricks up her sleeve for moving through the environment, such as wall running and rappelling. There will also be underwater areas to explore this time, with Lara having full 360-degree freedom of movement while being submerged.
Arriving with plenty of new tombs to explore and the Mayan apocalypse to halt, Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases September 14 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
