LastPass has announced that later this summer, LastPass Families will be available for purchase. LastPass Families will connect a family of up to six people together so that passwords for websites and other stored information can be shared with the rest of the family. Some interesting scenarios for LastPass Families uses are included in the blog post announcement.
“Every family is unique, so you need a flexible way to store and share information with others. With LastPass Families, organise items into as many folders as you need, so you can share login credentials to household bills with your significant other, while sharing entertainment sites with the whole family – all while keeping personal sites separate in your private vault.”
With up to six people invested in the family plan, and typically one person running the account, LastPass has baked in the ability to give emergency access to a family member for those times when, for whatever reason, the admin can’t access the LastPass account. If you want to give other members of the family a more permanent managerial position, you can give them admin rights.
Anyone who has a LastPass account can sign up right now to the LastPass Families early access programme. As thanks to premium customers, LastPass Families will be accessible for six months at no cost.
