For the past four generations of its Galaxy S smartphones, Samsung has released an Active variant with a toughened build, and dust- and water-resistance. This year, the Korean company is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 Active, and a lot of information about the device has already begun making the rounds online.
In the latest leak from Evan Blass, he has provided us with a high-resolution image of the Galaxy S8 Active, showing off the smartphone's side profile and a little bit of its flat screen. Unlike the S8 and S8+ duo, the S8 Active doesn't feature a curved screen, but still has the tall display with minimum bezels.
We have heard that the curved screen on the S8 is susceptible to cracks on minor falls and since this variant of the device is meant for outdoor activity and adventure sports, it makes sense that it does not have the curved-edge display. Other specifications of the device were leaked yesterday in detail, leaving little for Samsung to unveil whenever it plans to announce the device.
Like previous Active smartphones, this one too could be an AT&T exclusive and may not launch outside of the United States. However, Samsung could have other plans this time around and we will keep an eye out for any information coming out from the company.
