Lenovo today teased a new augmented reality (AR) project that it's working on with Disney, called Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. If you're like us, your ears just perked up at the mention of Star Wars and augmented reality in the same sentence.
The project features an "all-new augmented reality headset" (which appears to be untethered, judging by the video), of which we know almost nothing else about. But more importantly, Jedi Challenges will actually put a lightsaber in your hands, which may or may not end up being the greatest thing ever.
You can watch the teaser below:
Obviously, you really don't get to see much of what the AR experience is really like, but it should be enough to get any Star Wars fan excited. One possible experience that Lenovo mentioned is Holochess, which you probably remember from Star Wars: A New Hope.
Unfortunately, there's really no other information that's available right now, but you can sign up for updates from Lenovo here. As for when you'll be able to get your hands on one, the only official word is that it's "coming soon", and it will be available from Best Buy and Lenovo.com.
