CES 2021 starts this week, and ahead of the event's start, LG Display has introduced new OLED TV displays. Specifically showcased in a 77-inch size, the new OLED technology LG is using promises to be nearly 20% more efficient than previous iterations, which allows the display to improve its brightness.
This new technology will be present in LG Display's OLED TV models later this year, and the company is also expanding its lineup by adding two new screen sizes: 83-inch and 42-inch, with the latter being the smallest member of the family so far. Currently, LG Display's OLED lineup includes 88-, 77-, 65-, 55-, and 48-inch models. The company's mid-range models are also expanding into sizes from 20 to 30 inches.
In addition to this, LG Display is also going to be launching products like Film Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO). LG's CSO technology allows the display itself to vibrate to produce sound instead of using dedicated speakers, and this will allow this type of display to be even thinner.
This isn't LG Display's first big announcement at CES 2021. Last week, the company introduced a 48-inch bendable OLED gaming display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
