LG is giving the public a sneak preview of a new smartphone, the Optimus Vu, that looks like it will be a rather large device to carry in your pocket. LG's Korean web blog (translation via Google) has posted up a teaser video that gives an idea about what the phone, titled the Optimus Vu, will look like.
The blog itself is low on details but it did say the LG Optimus Vu will have a big five inch touch screen. In addition, the screen will have an unusual (for a smartphone, anyway) 4:3 aspect ratio. Yet another web site, Datacider.com (again, translation via Google) claims to have some other hardware specs on the phone. The site says the smartphone will have a Qualcomm made 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, one GB of RAM, eight GB of storage, an eight megapixel camera and Android 2.3 out of the box, with a possible update to Android 4.0 later on.
The LG Optimus Vu teaser was clearly made to make people wonder about the smartphone before it's officially announced, which will likely be at the World Mobile Congress trade event in Barcelona, Spain in late February. That's the same event where Microsoft will be making its Windows 8 Consumer Preview launch.
