Last week, LG began upgrading its G Watch R and first-gen Watch Urbane with the latest version of Google's OS for wearable devices. Unfortunately, the second generation of the Watch Urbane won't be getting the Android Wear 2.0 update for another few weeks.
The development and release of Android Wear 2.0 haven't exactly been a smooth process. In September, Google revealed that the update had been delayed until 2017, and it wasn't until early February that the company announced its official launch, promising that it would be made available for some existing Android Wear devices "in the coming weeks".
But towards the end of March, not a single device had been updated - and when the rollout finally began for only a handful of watches, it was quickly suspended due to the discovery of a last-minute bug. The rollout has since resumed, and is now available for a wider range of devices, but LG has confirmed that the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition won't get the update until "the beginning of May".
When it finally arrives for that device, Android Wear 2.0 will bring a wide range of improvements, including more customization options, enhanced health and fitness features, Google Assistant support, and a new on-device app store.
