It's been a few months since Microsoft released the "Tango" update for its Windows Phone OS. The Tango version shipped with a number of low end Windows Phone devices earlier in 2012, including the Lumia 610, and older Windows Phone devices have slowly been getting the upgrade via their wireless carriers.
Now there's word that AT&T may finally be close to releasing the Tango update to US owners of the Nokia Lumia 900. WPCentral.com reports that Nokia's servers now have updated files with AT&T included in the names of those files. However, there's no word on when AT&T will actually launch the update for general use.
Just to recap, the Tango update is a relatively minor one but it does have some new features and updates. In terms of messaging, the Tango upgrade allows users to "attach multiple pictures, videos, audio notes and ringtones to text messages". The Tango build also lets Windows Phone owners "export phone contacts to a SIM card and selectively import SIM card contacts to your phone."
WPCentral.com has some first impressions of the new Tango update for the AT&T Lumia 900 and they report that new Nokia made apps such as Contact Share and Counters are now fully operational with this update.
