Magic Online Goes Live

The wait is finally over. After an extensive beta test of over 60,000 players, Wizards of the Coast has brought the popular collectible trading card game, Magic: The Gathering to the Internet with Magic Online. Developed for Wizards of the Coast by Leaping Lizard Software, Magic Online brings the addictive action of collectible cards and battles online with over 1,500 digital Magic cards to play with, trade and collect (see this press release for the full details). To kick off the launch of Magic Online, WotC is offering a free trial of the game and a tutorial to get new players familiar with the various mechanics of the game. The retail game is available via the official site or through most major retailers for $14.99. Additional cards will be offered at a later date in 15-card booster packs (MSRP $3.29) and 60-card theme decks & tournament packs (MSRP $9.99). An added bonus for players who collect a full set of Magic Online cards is that they will have the option to redeem their online cards for physical Magic cards.
