Spider-Man has been heading to Marvel's Avengers superhero action game for quite some time now. The Webslinger was announced last year as a Sony-platform exclusive addition, but a firm release date never materialized due to continuous content delays. Today, Square Enix finally announced the date PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can get their hands on the hero: November 30.
Spider-Man will enter Marvel's Avengers with the game's 2.2 update via the 'With Great Power' hero event. "Spider-Man’s high-flying acrobatics bring an entirely new way to experience the game either solo or with friends, and his unique movement and combat abilities are sure to be a great addition to any Strike Team taking on missions in the Avengers Initiative," added the announcement.
The 2.2 update also has several other features for players across all platforms like a new raid, a power-level increase to 175, a new way to earn cosmetics and items via gameplay (Shipments), and gear upgrading.
Coming as an endgame four-player raid, Discordant Sound will ask participating heroes for high end equipment and teamwork to overcome the challenge. The raid involves beating the sonic monster Klaw which has returned to threaten Wakanda and its Vibranium mine.
Crystal Dynamics just this week removed the controversial XP and resource boost-related microtransactions from Marvel's Avengers after a community backlash. The title also launched on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription recently.
