Less than a week after EA announced plans to introduce Mass Effect: Andromeda to its subscription services on Xbox One and PC, BioWare's RPG has now arrived for EA Access and Origin Access.
As evident by its name, the game takes place in the Andromeda galaxy, leaving behind the original trilogy's storyline. Andromeda's reception at launch was not ideal, with a large amount of criticism pointed towards various animation and technical problems the game suffered from.
However, for anyone concerned about game-breaking bugs and such, be aware that BioWare has put forth updates since the game's launch, aiming to fix problematic areas.
Issues aside, the game should still be a fun RPG experience for the price, especially considering it launched as a $60 title back in March this year. The cooperative multiplayer horde-mode is also a plus for those who enjoy the combat.
Unlike other Access titles where only the base game is offered without any expansions or DLC, Mass Effect: Andromeda essentially provides the full experience. This is due to BioWare confirming that the game will not receive any post-launch single-player content. While this was bad news for fans of the game, it is certainly good news for Access subscribers.
Moreover, it is the Mass Effect: Andromeda Deluxe Edition that is being offered for subscribers, meaning they get a number of additional goodies such as a pet space monkey, the game's soundtrack, a Pathfinder outfit, an elite weapon set, and more.
Origin Access on the PC and EA Access on the Xbox One subscription services are available for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. The full list of games available on both EA services can be seen here.
