I suppose it was only a matter of time before the Mac fanatics would start attacking me. They really don't seem to understand that their behavior helps create detractors. I'm not a Mac detractor – but I'm starting to become one. There is a wide gulf between a Mac detractor and some guy writing his experiences with a new product he purchased.
Let's focus on that for a moment: The iMac is just a tool. If I were writing about the new lawn mower I got and complained that there were problems with bag holder on it, I wouldn't expect to get a hate mail from hysterical John Deer fans.
But for the ones sending me the hate mail, it's not about the technology at all. It's about being part of their vile cult. How can you get spastic about a chunk of plastic?
