Over the past month, there have been a lot of leaks in regards to Meizu's handsets, the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. After making it official last week that the handsets would launch soon, the time has now finally arrived. Perhaps what makes the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus so interesting is that the devices employ an unusual secondary display on their rear that can be used for basic tasks and even as a small display when taking selfies. While the firm did not release a resolution for the smaller display, it did state that it is a full-color Super AMOLED panel.
As for the specifications, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus will arrive with:
- 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display
- MediaTek Helio X30
- 6GB RAM
- Dual 12MP rear camera sensor with 16MP front-facing camera
- 64 or 128GB storage
- 3,500 mAh battery
As for the Meizu Pro 7, it will offer:
- 5.2-inch Full HD display
- MediaTek P25
- 4GB RAM
- Dual 12MP rear camera sensor with 16MP front-facing camera
- 64GB storage
- 3,000 mAh battery
For those are interested in the Pro 7, but want a little more power, there will also be a variant that is powered by the Helio X30 and will have 128GB of storage. Both handsets will feature Meizu's mCharge 4.0 fast charging technology and will offer Android Nougat with its own take on the OS with Flyme 6.
The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will go on sale starting on August 5th and will start at a price of $430 and $530 respectively. Although the handsets will be launching in 17 markets, the United States will not be one of them.
